Working together with greater safety – realistic simulation-based team training

Coping with critical situations in a dependable way, circumventing avoidable complications, communicating clearly: modern medical simulation-based training has a lot to offer and always serves one ultimate goal: patient safety.

Together, a lot can be achieved with medical simulation-based team training:

  • Enhanced patient safety
  • Increased efficiency especially in interdisciplinary teams
  • Improved medical knowledge and skills
  • Optimised coordination between all team members
  • Error detection and prevention
  • Positive effects on staff satisfaction and motivation

Simulation training for your team with InPASS

The training process focuses on human factors (HF) and crisis resource management (CRM) in the team. During training, the teams – made up of those who usually work together – work through a case scenario together. The process is filmed and discussed immediately afterwards, with the aid of the video, between all course participants and specially trained instructors.

Modern, full-scale simulators are used in our simulation-based training sessions. Technically, they differ considerably from conventional mega-code trainers and so better reflect reality. Thanks to physiological, as well as pathological heart and respiratory sounds, centrally and peripherally palpable pulses, numerous options for simulating a difficult airway as well as, amongst others, the possibility to insert an intraosseous port or chest drain – to name but a few of the features – the management of medically relevant situations can be rehearsed in a realistic way. The simulator is connected to a patient monitor that displays the relevant vital parameters during the scenario.

Due to the realistic simulation setting, the world of training closely reflects that of true working life. Detailed debriefing immediately afterwards – chaired by InPASS instructors trained specifically in CRM and HF – helps to achieve in-depth learning effects that can be effectively re-enacted in everyday situations.
